3MAAT in the USA

For those of you who don't already know, 3 Men & A Tenor recently arrived home after spending 3 and a half weeks in the United States preparing for, and competing in, the International Barbershop Competition.

The convention and competition itself was held in Philadelphia, however the journey began with a week and a half spent in the beautiful state of Colorado. There, the quartet rehearsed, did some sight-seeing, (including the rocky mountains!) and was coached by none other than the amazing Eddie Martinez. From there, they flew over to Philadelphia, competed, and saw some amazing concerts by the world's best barbershop quartets. Since New York City was so close, it seemed ridiculous to miss out on the opportunity to see the big city. Unfortunately time was limited there, but it was worth it if only for the experience of seeing the epic musical "Wicked" on Broadway.

The trip was definitely one to remember and the quartet would like to sincerely thank everyone that helped them to get there. Fundraising for four people to get to the USA was no mean feat, and could not have been accomplished without the quartet's supporters and fans.

Since returning, the quartet's lead, Mark, has decided to retire from the group. "Moving forward" as our ever so eloquent Australian Prime Minster would say, Lionel, Jeremy and Adam have decided to pursue something new and form an SATB sextet.
